The median salary of an identity theft lawyer is about $105,000 a year in the United States, according to a report by a firm that tracks compensation trends.
The average salary of a realtor is about double that figure, at about $75,000.
The difference in salary is partly due to the types of work a realty lawyer does.
A real estate agent or appraiser handles the transfer of ownership of property and other property that is owned by an individual.
A lawyer deals with litigation and other litigation matters.
For the lawyer who is hired to represent a family in a divorce, child custody case or custody battle, the average salary is $85,000, according the firm’s annual report.
For example, in 2014, the median compensation for a family attorney was $80,000 and for a real-estate lawyer was $90,000 to $110,000 per year, the report said.
This is the second year in a row that the firm has issued a report that found the median real-life salary for lawyers was lower than the average annual compensation for those in their field.
The median annual compensation of a lawyer in the U.S. in 2015 was $78,000 according to the firm, which tracks compensation for lawyers in the state of California.
The report from the Lawyer’s Association of America, a trade group representing lawyers, also found that in 2015, lawyers earned about $6,000 more per year than the median hourly wage for the public sector in California, as well as about $2,000 less per year for lawyers working in large firms, including law firms, financial institutions and technology companies.
The firm said it has no data on median salaries for lawyers who practice in the private sector.
Last year, a coalition of public interest groups and lawyers launched a campaign to push lawmakers to pass the Real Estate Access, Responsibility and Accountability Act, which would require a higher minimum salary for real estate attorneys.
A recent study by the American Bar Association found that lawyers earn about $160,000 annually in California and New York, which are among the states with the highest median incomes.
The report from LawyerAdvisor found that the median annual salary for a lawyer with a bachelor’s degree is $98,000 in the Los Angeles area and $104,000 nationwide.
The state with the lowest median salary is Mississippi at $61,000 for a bachelor degree, according a 2014 report from SalaryScout.
