Steves attorney says his client is considering legal action after he was accused of sexually assaulting his daughter and a former student.
Barnes is accused of molesting a 16-year-old girl in his home in December.
Barnets attorney, Stephen F. Barnes, filed a motion to dismiss the case on Wednesday.
The motion says that the allegations against the attorney are not true.
Barnett is currently in custody in Fort Lauderdale awaiting a judge’s decision on whether he will remain in the county jail pending the outcome of the case.
Barnet has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping in a Miami-Dade court.
He was arrested on March 10 after a woman told police that he assaulted her in his driveway.
The woman told investigators that Barnett had sexually assaulted her multiple times during the night of December 19.
The woman told authorities that she reported the alleged sexual assaults to a friend on January 14.

Barners attorney, John B. Cogswell, says his clients attorney, Steven Barnes Jr., filed the motion to stop Barnes from being held in jail.
Barnell is currently being held at the Miami-Fort Lauderdale International Airport awaiting a decision by a judge on whether to release him pending the results of an investigation.
