Since younger kids like to play on the ground with their toys, it is best to have the flooring carpeted. If you have hardwood floors or even cement floors, carpeting the basement is important as such floors are not kid-friendly. Do not try to cut cost by placing some small rugs instead of carpets. Kids might slip on rugs and can seriously injure themselves. A neutral-colored soft carpet, like an easy to maintain Berber carpet, works very well for a basement playroom.
Use Bold Colors: Do not shy away from using bold colors in your tween's room. Just because your kid is grown up, his or her space does not have to look all drab and boring. In fact, bright colors add a freshness and warmth to the room. It is perfectly fine to opt for the sassy pinks and the bright blues while decorating your kid's room.
Bolsters prevent babies from rolling off on to the floor. Being heavy, they are better than the regular pillows, as they do not shift or move around on the bed.
